Excellent superior quality 19th century pair of art deco large bronze cachepots decorated with handles bearing stylised heads of Bacchus (the Roman God of wine credited with showing mortals how to cultivate grapevines and make wine) on the one side and his wife Ariadne on the other and further decorated in high relief with garlands, vines, shells and boar’s heads. Exceptional quality reminicent of the Belle Epoque and inspired by Greek and Roman Mythology.
