Seemingly identical to the much smaller version by Henry Raigniauld with which this may may be easily confused unless seen in person when the difference is immediately visible given that it is about 4 times as large. This is one of those maps that seldom turns up. |

The map makes interesting reference on the need to be respectful towards medical doctors with 'Scis Medicum Medicum venerare et subitus adora: Hinc tibi propitio fato fiducia major' which roughly means that if you know a medical doctor show respect and he will hopefully help you in case of need.

| Nicholas De Fer, Isle de Malthe Et Celle de Goze et de Comino. 1722. Euro 2850 Nicholas De Fer, Isle de Malthe Et Celle de Goze et de Comino. 1722. Image measures 525 by 379 mm. This map being based on that of Estienne Vouillemont which had been issued by Pierre DuVal and subsequently by Antoine De Fer who was Nicholas De Fer’s father some 50 years prior. A scarce map in good condition. This map containing additional details and embellishments in particular the title cartouche and the updating of the coats of arms. It is interesting to note the variations from a similar version by Danet which variations are primarily found in the title cartouche and that the coats of arms which in this version end with that of Raimpnd de Perellos whilst in the Danet with that of Marc Antoine Zondadary. |
